1998 Chevrolet Blazer Issue?
I have a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer 4 door 4wd with the 4.3 L engine in it and I was curious as to why the engine hangs up when the heater or a/c is on? Does this mean I have a bad air compressor pulley?

For example when I'm driving down the road and I turn the heater on or the a/c on the truck runs smoothly and then it feels like a pulley makes more work for the engine causing it to feel like someone is pushing on the front of the vehicle as you are trying to accelerate or keep speed.
what do I need to replace?
Hangs up as in dies....if so I'd check that and the belt. If it sputters, you're probably ok, because its just starting up the axillary system in the car that's not required to run.
which car is better?
ok, soo i have a 2000 chevrolet Blazer 4-door 4WD white... my friend has a 1998 Jeep Cherokee I personally think looks like a box no offense to other owners but he thinks his vehicle is better what do you all think???? feel free to look at some pics on google image search and let me know what you think i just need to know.....
not to mention his jeep is a nasty faded navy blue...
For plain daily driver, the Blazer is slightly better. In the event of actual off roading, the Cherokee is the better vehicle. I also like the tighter turning radius of the Cherokee and found it easier to maintain than the Blazer. But like some say, Ford versus Chevy etc etc. It is a matter of choice, and you like your vehicle, while your friend likes his vehicle.
